ALPHA

Alpha is a 10 week practical introduction to the Christian faith designed especially for non-churchgoers and new Christians.  Long-time Christians also find that it’s a helpful “refresher.”  It’s an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to explore the meaning of life in a safe, fun and non-threatening atmosphere.  Each session includes dinner, a DVD, and discussion.

Alpha is typically offered in the fall and in the winter/spring and meets at the Macatawa Resource Center, 665 136th Avenue on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Watch for the next course on the calendar and special events sections of this web site, or contact the Crosswinds office.

Coordinator: Pastor Jeff Meyer

CHILDREN IN WORSHIP

A special worship time is planned every Sunday for children who are four years old through 3rd grade.  They have a Bible lesson, songs and prayers as well as “response time” when they can apply what they learn with hands on activities.  Kids learn about worship while they worship in ways they understand.  They begin their Sunday morning along with the adults for a time of praise and worship and then are dismissed to their Children In Worship room during the adult time of teaching. FINANCIAL PEACE

Everyone truly benefits from this life-changing program designed by personal money management expert, Dave Ramsey.  The average family eliminates $5,300 in debt and saves $2,700 in just 91 days!  This 13-lesson video series is based on solid financial principles of common-sense money management.

Financial Peace is typically offered in the winter/spring and meets in a classroom at Harbor Lights Middle School on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30 p.m.  Watch for the next course on the calendar and special events sections of this web site, or contact the Crosswinds office.  There is some cost for materials.

FUN FESTS

Fun Fests are Crosswinds’ gifts to our neighbors.  From mini-carnivals and trick-or-treat nights at the mall with as many as 1,300 people, to hot dog roasts and kickball with a couple dozen friends – all have been great times!

Fun Fests are organized various times throughout the year and are posted in the calendar and special events sections of this site as they are planned.

LIFE GROUPS

Crosswinds’ L.I.F.E. Groups are made up of 6-12 adults who meet a couple times each month (family members included).  Each group aims to be a meaningful, supportive network of friendships.  Four elements that you’ll find to some degree in every L.I.F.E. Group include Learning, Intercession, Friendship, and Evangelism.  While active participation in a L.I.F.E. Group is optional, everyone at Crosswinds is included in a group that will support and care for them as needed. (click here for additional details)

PRAYER

Crosswinds friends gather for prayer at a variety of times and places.  One weekly time for shared prayer is every Sunday morning starting at 9:00 a.m.  Everyone is welcome to gather in the lobby area on the north side of the Harbor Lights Middle School cafeteria for an open time of prayer.  Those who come bring personal needs and joys as well as their heart for Crosswinds and the general community.  It is a rich time with God as we prepare for worship.

SUMMER KIDS' CLUB

One week each summer Crosswinds friends spend each weekday evening meeting with kids from the neighborhood on the lawn of Harbor Lights Middle School.  This “Summer Kids' Club” is a fun time of building new friendships while playing games, making crafts, learning a Bible lesson, and enjoying a snack.  Many parents seem to have just as much fun as the kids!  Watch the special events page for the upcoming dates.

Coordinator: Rachel Ortega

WORSHIP ARTS

Music and art add expression to our worship.  Teams of volunteer musicians take turns leading us each week with their instruments and voices.  These “praise teams” practice Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. prior to the worship time.

Coordinator: Marj Taylor & Ann Black

 YOUTH EVENTS

A spring break train trip to Chicago.  A winter overnighter in a rustic lodge.  These are a couple events that have brought Crosswinds youth together.

Middle school students meet for a few minutes after the worship time each Sunday for snacks and a conversation about the morning message.

In addition the middle school and high school youth meet for an evening of activity and conversation the last Sunday of each month.

Youth activities are organized various times throughout the year.  Watch the calendar and special events sections of this web site, or contact the Crosswinds office.
